I went to a fall festival, and everyone was wearing Brooks, Adidas Samba & Vans sneakers

A small town in Wisconsin has what may be considered one of the largest fall festivals I have ever attended. At 40,000 strong, the streets are lined with masses of people in Sister Bay for a weekend, where there’s plenty to see and do.

Amid the food, music and goats on the roof of Al Johnson’s, it was easy to spot a trend emerging — particularly on their feet — where patrons had a penchant towards sneakers from Brooks, Adidas and Vans that became more noticeable the more I walked around.

It probably comes as no surprise that you’d see all ages wearing a smart sneaker from Brooks. These running/walking shoes are ultra-cushioned, comfortable and made to spend several hours on your feet — like at a festival.

You can grab several styles, like the Brooks’ Ghost 17, Glycerin 22 and Adrenaline GTS 24, in an assortment of colors, making them a buy to wear anywhere.

It was also pretty apparent that the Adidas Samba sneaker trend is far from over, as everywhere I looked these fan-favorite sneakers were traipsing through the festival — and in every colorway imaginable, too.

Sambas are a long reigning the sneaker king that multiple generations have loved since they grew in popularity in the ‘70s. You can still snag a pair today in a variety of colors and designs, including a very wearable Samba Jane.

Lastly, a newer sneaker style turned my head — Vans. Yes, this popular skate sneaker was featured on a multitude of festival feet in the Old Skool design.

This skate style is taking over once again, moving away from its checkerboard past made famous by Spicoli from “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.”

While these three sneakers seemed to dominate this fall festival, it certainly doesn’t mean I didn’t see other styles worn, too. I saw Converse Chuck Taylors on attendants of all ages, HOKAs were also presents, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the appearances of New Balance’s 574 and Nike’s Air Max 270s.
