You don’t need a membership to shop at the newest bulk warehouse in the Sacramento area.

The Save Mart Companies — which also oversees Save Mart and Lucky California supermarkets — opened its newest Foodmaxx location on Wednesday at the Crestview Village Shopping Center in Carmichael. On Saturday, the first 300 customers will receive a gift card between $10 and $100, according to a news release.

“With today’s shoppers facing ever-tighter budgets, our priority is to provide this community with the very best values, day in and day out, without sacrificing quality,” said Paul Gossett, vice president of Foodmaxx, in the statement.

According to Save Mart Companies, the “bag-your-own” grocery retailer offers customers budget-friendly deals — from well-known brands to store-labeled products — which can be helpful when funds are “very limited at the end of the month.” The grocery retailer is stocked with dairy, bread, frozen produce and meats as well as pet, baby and beauty items.

Raw shrimp is $6.99 per pound and strawberries are $2.49 per pound through Tuesday, Aug. 8.

More deals are listed on the weekly ad flyer. The self-titled app offers coupons, specials and weekly sales.

Foodmaxx accepts the following government assistance programs, according to the statement:

  • Electronic Benefit Transfer

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program

  • Women, Infants and Children Program

Both EBT and SNAP users can utilize same-day and pick-up services through grocery delivery company Instacart.
