What it is: A “sensual and bold” rose fragrance from AERIN.

Part of the broader Rose de Grasse fragrance collection, an olfactory appreciation of the perennial flowering plant, this particular perfume features top notes of rose water and violet leaves, heart notes of red rose and rose Centifolia, and base notes of honeycomb accord and musk to capture the “warmth and vitality” of a fully bloomed, freshly cut rose.

“Rose de Grasse Rouge is a true celebration of the rose, which is a constant source of inspiration for me. Not just because I love the way roses smell, but because of their meaning,” AERIN founder Aerin Lauder said of the fragrance. “Roses symbolize friendship, generosity and love, all of which are very important to me.”

What we say: If you love roses, this scent is for you.

A full bouquet of roses are promised in this luxurious floral fragrance — and that’s precisely what you get. From first spritz, the fragrance is all flowers, our tester reports. The honeycomb and musk didn’t present very prominently on our tester’s skin.

The rose notes on offer in this fragrance are fresh and clean, with the rosewater adding an element of lightness into the mix. Our tester found one spritz provided a nice, subtle scent experience while additional spritzes really amped-up the olfactory experience of all things rose.

Where to get it: Holt Renfrew, holtrenfrew.com.

What it will cost you: $312 for 50 mL.
