They say: A lipstick collection from luxury Italian brand Valentino that represents its first Haute Couture Beauty launch. Inspired by its fashion archives, the collection of four lipsticks — Underdressed Velvet 111A, Rosso Valentino in 22A and 22R, Ethereal Red 217 and Star Studded 219 — were created by Valentino Beauty Global Makeup artist Raoul Alejandre using inspiration from five Valentino Haute Couture gowns. “Each shade reflects the iconic colour of the Maison, and mimics the texture, light, movement and feeling of the dresses, each in its own unique way,” according to the brand.
We say: Always able to find room for a new red lipstick in her collection, our tester was excited to try this new Born en Rosso collection. The formulas are creamy and ultra-pigmented, giving lips a bold hit of colour that wears comfortably and lasts. The shade Rosso Valentino in 22A, a true nod to the house’s iconic hue, was our tester’s top pick.

We say: Billed as an olfactory tribute to the “fleurs de feu” — flowers of fire — enjoyed by Yves Saint Laurent himself, this amber elixir proves to be a powerful perfume with some serious staying power. Our tester was pleased with how spicy this scent was on her skin, providing a day-to-night option that needs no re-up throughout the day.

Sweet Dreams Hydrating Night Moisturizer
They say: A night moisturizer from the Australian brand Bondi Sands that promises up 72 hours of hydration to provide plump, perky skin. Skin-loving ingredients such as squalane, hyaluronic acid, algae and wild hibiscus flower moisturize and nourish skin.
We say: Our tester found this product was easy to apply and had a nice, creamy consistency. She found it gave skin an instant hit of hydration and left her face feeling “refreshed” by morning.
