If you’ve ever watched a preschooler play with a Melissa & Doug Water WOW! activity pad, you’re probably well aware of the magic at play.

Designed for kids ages 3 and up, this playset combines the sensory satisfaction of water play with the imaginative world of pretend cooking.

The company says it’s a 19-piece color-reveal cooking experience that brings the joy of make-believe meals to life, without the mess of real ingredients or the cleanup of traditional arts and crafts. And that alone is music to any parent’s ears.

• A stove-top base with one burner
• A pot to fire up the food
• A double-sided reusable recipe card
• A refillable squeeze bottle and water-dispensing spoon to simulate adding ingredients like olive oil or braising and browning whatever’s in the pot

Just like the brand’s flagship water-coloring and paint activity pads, this new culinary take on Water WOW! technology lets kids animate their own dishes using just one ingredient: water.
