Gracie Abrams’s Makeup Diaries, Favorite Makeup Products
It’s been a whirlwind few years for singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams. She’s been climbing the charts since her debut album, Good Riddance, debuted back in 2023, but some might credit her opening at select shows on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour last year as her real breakout moment into pop stardom. Beyond her play-on-repeat-worthy hits, like last summer’s “Close To You,” the 25-year-old’s fresh-faced glow and enviable bob haircut have also made her a new beauty icon. We caught up with Abrams, who has a new gig as the global brand partner of Hourglass Cosmetics, to take a peek inside her beauty kit—the very one she uses to do her own makeup on tour. Plus, she provides insights into her sensitive-skin-friendly regimen.
What was the first makeup product you remember buying or using?
Aquaphor Lip Repair lip balm was, and still is, a staple for me. It was just crucial [during the] summers, and that was always what was in the bathroom drawer. And I really loved it—and I love it to this day.

Who or what is your biggest makeup inspiration?
I do my own makeup on tour, but whenever I get together with [celebrity makeup artist] Emily Cheng, we can never stop talking! She always introduces me to new products, and I love having such an amazing person on my team.
What’s your number-one holy grail makeup product?
Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint. It feels like skincare and makes my skin so hydrated, gives such a glow, and blends so easily. I love how my skin still looks like skin—just enhanced. It still allows my freckles to shine through, for instance. Especially having had cystic acne in the past, I look for that coverage, but without it feeling like makeup.

Hmm—Team No Primer.
How many lip balms or oils are in your bag right now?
Um, too many! I love the Laneige Lip Mask. I’ve tried every scent. Today I’m using Vanilla. I also love Hourglass Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm. I tried Rise today, and it’s going to be my new go-to. I’m obsessed with how natural it looks.

What’s your skin type, and what kind of foundation do you typically use?
My skin is sensitive, and I’ve been on a skincare journey. I’m so cautious that I only recommend [complexion] products that I really use. I love the Hourglass skin tint because it melts into my skin and gives a natural glow. Plus, Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer. My shade is Silk.

How often do you clean your brushes?
Not as often as I should! But I definitely feel like that’s something I want to get into my routine more regularly.
What are your thoughts on blush, and which ones do you love right now?
I love blush, and it’s a must in my routine. A bit of color helps me look alive. I love Hourglass Unreal Liquid Blush. It looks so natural as a flush [and has a serum-like] texture. I also love the Fenty Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush.

Are you into using highlighter or bronzer?
Definitely highlighter. I am so fair that I get nervous about blending in bronzer and still looking natural. But when I reach for bronze shades, I like cool tones.
What is your relationship like with eyeshadow?
I don’t really use too much. It’s more about defining the eye, and I haven’t gotten into sparkle eyeshadow—yet!
How about eyeliner? Do you usually reach for a pencil, liquid, or gel formula?
I love eyeliner. Voyeur Waterproof Gel Eyeliner is an amazing formula. It’s able to get super defined and is long-lasting.

What are some of your go-to mascaras, and would you consider yourself a volume or length seeker or both?
I’m not sure! I don’t always use mascara [or even know what tubing mascara is], but when I do, I use Caution Extreme Lash Mascara from Hourglass.

Now let’s talk about brows: Tell us about one of your brow goals and your favorite products of all time.
Arch Volumizing Fiber Brow Gel from Hourglass was my first product that I fell in love with. It really helped define my brows and kept them looking natural. I also use a tube of the hair gel Got2b Glued Brow & Edge Gel.

Are you a fan of red lipstick?
Yes, I definitely am! But I think I would leave applying it to the pros. When I’m doing my own makeup, I go for more natural shades.
Are there any other fun makeup staples you’re obsessed with?
Part of my routine is CYKLAR perfume oil. My friend Claudia made these. They roll on and smell incredible. I also love the products by the celebrity makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes. We became friends—just from following each other on Instagram—and one day she invited me in to have my makeup done. That was my first experience ever having my makeup done!

If you could use only one makeup product for an entire day, what would it be?
Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer. It now has minis, so it’s perfect for on-the-go too. It goes with me everywhere. It’s great for under-eyes, blemishes, touch-ups. The consistency dries down so well.
