You may have noticed some posts from our friends at the Strategist on the Cut. They’ll be dropping in every now and again, sharing their expertise on the basics you don’t have time to research and the weird and wonderful things you don’t yet know you need.
What a strange few days in deals land. More to come if you need to buy a TV ASAP, but in the meantime, it’s not the worst idea to pick up some discounted skin care. Ulta is really stepping it up on the deals front lately. Its 21 Days of Beauty Event just ended, but its Spring Haul Sale is now live, and it’s got equally good deals in the mix. Meanwhile, my highlight of the week was the time I spent in Urban Outfitters’ sale bin; the clothing options were subpar, but the home section more than made up for it. I found bedding, shower curtains, and a $20 table lamp that’s currently sitting in my cart.

The sleeves on this Ganni top have the right amount of pouf.

This also calls to me. Sadly, it’s only on sale in white, but that’s probably the best option anyway.

This breezy midi skirt (that comes in cornflower blue and white) looks perfect for picnicking.

Deals writer Alexandra Polk, who is fully in her ’70s academia-meets-André 3000 phase, is eyeing this blazer.

Nary a week goes by in the Strategist Slack without discussion of a ballet flat or two. These are quite comfortable, according to one New York Magazine staffer, and are now half off in several colors like this indulgent forest green.

If velvet feels too flashy, here’s a nice leather option.

And now a sporty neutral: the trendproof Nike Air Force 1s, which are 40 percent off in select colors.

The consensus on the Strategist’s deals team is that it’s officially poplin season. Gap, of course, has plenty of options that are very discounted, like this $23 button-up.

J.Crew sale items are an extra 30 percent off at checkout with the code SALETIME, making this long-sleeve tee (love the cuffs!) nearly half off.

Earlier this week, I did an extensive search for all the best deals on Patagonia across the internet. Lots of orange and orange-adjacent items are on sale, like this nice jacket for the rainy season.

A comfy shoe in unisex sizing.

Our best-of-the-best, dentist-approved water flosser is 40 percent off, which is the cheapest I’ve seen it in a while.

Senior editor Ailbhe Malone picked up this Fenty Beauty face mask at her local T.J. Maxx last month. “It reminds me of a more potent version of the Fresh Rose face mask — where that one is soothing, this one is brightening,” she says.

Foreo’s Luna 3 is our Best in Class facial-cleansing brush, and the model designed specifically for sensitive skin is on sale for 55 percent off at Nordstrom Rack. It uses T-sonic pulsations (the “T” stands for “transdermal”) to remove dirt, oil, sweat, makeup residue, and dead skin cells.

Ulta’s Spring Haul Sale wraps up on Sunday night, and Amazon is price-matching most of the drugstore skin care. Bio-Oil is a longtime Strategist favorite; Lala Kent of Vanderpump Rules told us she slathers this everywhere and wakes up “looking like a freaking supermodel.”

Polk says Mielle’s pomegranate-and-honey line has some of the best-smelling products she’s used on her hair. “The leave-in conditioner is one of my favorites — it makes my curls bouncy and soft with zero flakes,” she writes.

An enormous Colourpop palette to perfect your (cool-toned) smoky eye.

I found Byredo’s Strategist-approved multisticks on sale at Ssense in three colors.

A suspiciously cheap bottle of the classic Chloé perfume.

Select kitchen and dining items are 20 percent off at ABC Carpet & Home until April 14. These swirl-patterned pasta bowls are a dinner-party essential.

In our exhaustive guide to flatware, food writer Claire Saffitz recommends this resin-handle set from Cutipol. “The pieces are unique and modern without being too weird or hard to actually use,” she says.

Two crystal wineglasses from revered glass manufacturer Ichendorf Milano are now just over $14 apiece.

This indoor garden includes LED lights that promote photosynthesis, a soil-free base, and a small footprint that won’t take up too much room.

If the essence of summer could be captured in a chair, I believe this would be it.

A very good price for a solid little side table.

I spotted so many shower curtains on sale at Urban Outfitters, and all of them are delightful.

The pattern of the shower curtain above also comes in duvet-cover form, if you please.

I found three of Jiu Jie’s delightful pillows on sale at Ssense (and all colors are at least 40 percent off).

This is one of our top picks if you’re in the market for a design-y bath mat that still feels substantial underfoot. It’s a whopping 75 percent off, though only in the runner-size version.

Senior editor Winnie Yang just repurchased these Merrells that her 9-year-old loves so much that, despite having outgrown her old ones, she “persisted in squeezing her feet into them.”

I spotted a few Tamagotchis on sale at Amazon, though the discount will vary by color. The cheapest looks to be this vibrant red-apple design.

This smaller version of our favorite elephant plushie covers its eyes with its ears when you squeeze its belly.

Thermos is offering 30 percent off kids’ gear this weekend, and it looks like Amazon is price-matching some of the colors, too. Senior writer Lauren Ro says this ten-ounce jar is “a lifesaver” when going on all-day excursions with her picky toddler.
